Song Joong Ki has returned to South Korea after the filming of Bogota in Colombia has been abruptly halted. The movie is just one of the projects in the entertainment industry that has discontinued filming due to the coronavirus pandemic that continues to spread fear among the citizens across the globe.
Movie production delay
Apparently, production and filmings have been put on indefinite hold to help prevent the spread of the virus that already claimed thousands of lives, especially in Italy. In the case of Song Joong Ki’s movie, it may take a while for it to be finished as 90 percent of the movie need to be shot in Colombia.
The actor and the Korean crew of the movie have been staying in the said country since January but their work was interrupted this month for the mentioned reason. The team is supposed to complete filming and return to Korea at the end of this month but the COVID-19 infection altered this schedule.
“All of the staff who are in Colombia, South America will return home in consideration of the situation in the continent,” Koreaboo quoted the Korean filming team as saying. “We are looking for ways to make sure the staff and cast members can return home as safely as possible, by arranging a flight as soon as we can.”
Arrival in South Korea
Allkpop reported that Song Joong Ki finally returned to his homeland on March 24. His management agency, Hi-Story DNC, confirmed that he is back and alright. "Song Joong Ki arrived safely today,” the agency told the media. “Thankfully, there are no problems with his health. For the time being, he'll be relaxing on his own."
It was clarified that although Song Joong Ki is healthy, he still decided to stay home and go on self-quarantine. He will be using this time to take a rest from his busy schedules.
As per Korea’s MBN Star, the rest of the cast and crew also arrived in Korea on the same day as Song Joong Ki. Meanwhile, it was previously mentioned that the production team of Bogota is considering alternatives so they still finish the movie without the need to go back to Colombia. They are making this decision to avoid further delay and besides, they are almost done with filming.
