SpaceX plans to roll out the Starlink mini dish in the coming months, providing a more affordable option for users. Additionally, the company is offering a 50% discount on its Starlink dishes in the US.
Elon Musk Reveals Affordable Starlink Mini Dish Capable of Streaming Multiple 4K Videos
According to Teslarati, Elon Musk recently hinted at the capabilities of SpaceX's Starlink micro dish on X. The CEO of SpaceX disclosed that the Starlink micro dish would be more cost-effective than the company's standard dish and would be set up in less than five minutes.
“This product will change the world…About half the price of the standard dish to buy and monthly subscription, but you can still watch multiple 4k video streams simultaneously,” Elon Musk said on X.
The Starlink compact dish was approved by the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) last year. As indicated by SpaceX's FCC application, the Starlink mini dish is highly portable and measures 11.4 inches by 9.8 inches. Elon Musk observed that the Starlink mini dish could be conveniently accommodated in a knapsack.
SpaceX announced in May that it would permit customers to pay for Starlink's satellite antennas monthly, increasing their affordability. The Starlink mini dish is anticipated to be half the price of a standard dish, typically retailing for $599. Therefore, the Starlink micro dish may be priced at approximately $250. Starting at $250, the Starlink mini would be easily affordable in monthly installments.
SpaceX has recently implemented substantial discounts for its new V4 Starlink dish, reducing the cost to as low as $299 for new consumers in the United States. If similar discounts were to be offered, the Starlink micro dish could be even more affordable than the estimated price of $250.
SpaceX Slashes Starlink V4 Dish Prices by 50% for New US Customers with Regional Savings
SpaceX's Starlink satellite was recently discounted by up to 50% for new users in the United States.
Elon Musk's aerospace company has significantly reduced the cost of the new V4 Starlink dish. Customers' discounts will vary depending on the service plan they select.
The V4 dish will be $499, a $100 reduction from its original price of $599 when customers purchase it from Starlink's official website, Best Buy, or Home Depot. Target also offers the V4 Starlink dish.
Nevertheless, SpaceX also implemented a "regional savings" discount in 27 states, which provided an additional $200 discount. New residential service plan subscribers are eligible for the "regional savings"discount. The price of a Starlink V4 dish is reduced from $499 to $299 with the "regional savings" discount, resulting in substantial savings.
“In the United States, new orders in certain regions are eligible for a one-time savings in areas where Starlink has abundant network availability.”
“$200 will be removed from your Starlink kit price when ordering on Starlink.com, and if activated after purchasing from retailers, a $200 credit will be applied,” explained Starlink’s official website.
The policies for consumers who utilize Starlink's "regional savings" are as follows:
-
Customers who relocate their service address to an address outside a regional savings area will be charged the regional savings amount.
-
Customers can alter their service plan for six months after the order date unless they contact support and consent to pay the regional savings.
-
Customers are prohibited from transferring a Starlink Kit to another user until 120 days have passed from the order date or 90 days have elapsed since the Starlink Kit was activated, whichever occurs first.
-
The regional savings amount will be automatically billed to customers who terminate their Starlink within the 30-day trial period, do not return the Starlink Kit, and do not pay for their first month of service.
