SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) will report its second-quarter 2026 financial results after the market closes on August 4, marking its first earnings release since its record-breaking initial public offering. The company will also host a live webcast for investors, making the event one of the most anticipated corporate updates of the year.

The earnings report is expected to provide Wall Street with its first detailed look at SpaceX’s financial performance as a publicly traded company. Investors will closely monitor revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, and management’s outlook as the aerospace giant navigates heavy investments in Starship, Starlink, and AI infrastructure.

The announcement is also significant because it will trigger the largest insider lock-up expiration ever seen in the public markets. SpaceX went public on June 12, 2026, through a $75 billion IPO, with less than 5% of its total shares available for public trading. The limited float fueled sharp volatility, sending SPCX to a record high before the stock later fell below its IPO price.

Two trading days after the earnings release, approximately 911.5 million insider shares—equal to 20% of eligible holdings—will become available for trading. At the current share price of $119.85, that represents roughly $109.2 billion worth of stock entering the market. An additional 10% price-based tranche remains locked because the stock failed to meet the required trading threshold.

Further lock-up releases are scheduled throughout late 2026, while Elon Musk’s controlling stake and key executive shares will remain restricted until June 2027.

Beyond the lock-up event, investors will focus on several operational metrics. Starlink subscriber growth, average revenue per user, and profitability will be closely watched as indicators of recurring revenue strength. Analysts will also assess Falcon 9 launch margins, Starship-related capital spending, and investments tied to xAI infrastructure following the companies’ integration.

With SpaceX trading at premium valuation multiples, management’s guidance will be critical. Strong revenue growth, improving margins, and a credible path toward sustainable cash flow could help offset selling pressure from newly unlocked shares. However, weaker-than-expected results combined with the significant increase in tradable stock could weigh on SPCX shares in the months ahead.
