‘Spy x Family’ chapter 28: Twilight investigates Daybreak

‘Spy x Family’ chapter 28 might reveal something about the group behind Daybreak. If this group is doing its best to hinder Twilight’s Operation Strix, a confrontation might happen in the upcoming chapter.

The recent “Spy x Family” manga chapter, which can be read on Mangaplus, shows Twilight getting a bit worried. He is certain that Anna must have failed in her midterms exams, which could jeopardize his Operation Strix.

To remedy the situation, Twilight decided to alter Anna’s answers in her test papers so she will pass. But in the process of doctoring the exam papers, Twilight met another interesting character, who calls himself Daybreak.

Daybreak actually chooses his codename in reference to Twilight, whose presence is already known within the espionage community. He longed for the day that he would match wits with the spy known as Twilight.

Unknown to him, Daybreak actually met Twilight on his first assignment, which is to change the answers of a couple of students. What surprised Twilight, who is also known as Loid Forger, is that Daybreak is obviously an amateur in the game.

Disguised as a teacher, Loid followed Daybreak as he entered into the school’s vault where the test papers and other important records are stored. However, the latter hit a snag when the guard demanded that he present a faculty I.D. before he is allowed entry into the restricted area.

Loid decided to help Daybreak out as he was also interested in what the latter was up to. He pretended to pick up an ID belonging to Daybreak so that the guard will let him in.

While inside the vault, Daybreak knocked Twilight “unconscious.” The latter actually knew he was about to be attacked but allowed it to happen and pretended to have passed out so he’ll observe what the other man will do.

Loid finally confirmed that Daybreak changed the answers of the exam paper of the two Desmond brothers. However, he can’t help but be surprised when the other man signed “Courtesy of Agent Daybreak” on the test papers he tampered with.

However, Daybreak seems pleased when he was discovered by the disguised Twilight. “You better tell everyone,” Daybreak said before going out of the vault. “The world needs to know of my deeds.”

Twilight decided to revert the papers back to their original answers. Then he went to look for Anna’s papers to see if they need any revision to pass. Apparently, she got enough correct answers to barely pass, which actually surprised Loid for a bit.

But all is not well with Daybreak. He was actually fired for failing at his mission, thanks to Loid’s interference. But his actions already piqued Loid’s interest, who might try to investigate his motives.

While Operation Strix will still be up and running in “Spy x Family” chapter 28, it will still likely be moving at a snail’s pace. Twilight has been trying very hard to get close to Desmond through their kids but Anna just can’t seem to get close to her classmate.

The upcoming chapter might reveal just who was behind Daybreak’s mission. It appears that this person or group of persons might be vaguely aware of Twilight’s Operation Strix and are doing what they can to undermine it. This could mean that a confrontation between Twilight and this group is bound to happen.
