Starknet Holders Vote by Oct. 22 on Post-Quantum Layer 1 Study

A Yes result would start research. The nonbinding poll would not approve a network transition.

Holders of Starknet (STRK) have until Oct. 22 to signal whether the network should study an independent post-quantum Layer 1, a proposal prompted by its reliance on Ethereum.

Starknet’s governance post describes the poll as nonbinding. A Yes result would begin research, while any move to a new network would require further proposals and votes. The poll opened Oct. 15.

Starknet is a Layer 2 network whose bridge and data availability depend on Ethereum. Its governance post argues that an independent chain would give Starknet more control over the timing of post-quantum security changes. The proposal says Ethereum-to-Starknet bridges would remain open.

An Oct. 19 EconoTimes market snapshot put STRK at $0.05962 and reported a decline of about 4%.

Starknet says the voting results will appear when the poll closes Oct. 22.
