Steam's Winter Sale Is Here, Buy AAA Games For Up To 80% Off

Grim Fandango.BagoGames/Flicker

It’s that time of the year again when gamers treat themselves to a Christmas shopping spree and Valve is more than happy to provide with the launch of Steam’s Winter Sale. Prepare to see some of the biggest AAA titles becoming available for a fraction of their original prices and some indie titles practically being given away. There are definitive packages as well, which can slash more than 80 percent on certain video games and their respective downloadable content.

These seasonal sale events by Steam have become something of a tradition among gamers, with many saving up for months in advance in order to hoard as many titles as they possibly can. As with past sale events, there have been some significant cuts, with “Grim Dawn” available at a 45 percent discount, PC World reports.

For fans of classic RPG games, “Baldur’s Gate II” is now available for only $8 and “Gram Fandango Remastered” is currently sitting at $3. Those who want more action-oriented titles, “Just Cause 3” is available at 75 percent off while puzzle-lovers will simply go nuts over the 50 percent discount on the popular indie game, “The Witness.”

As one would expect, video game enthusiasts are practically tripping over themselves to buy titles that are practically dirt-cheap right now, with Ars Technica hinting that this presents customers with a great gift-shopping opportunity. Those who have friends or loved ones that are gamers can just buy some cheap titles to give as gifts and be done with it.

Of course, this would require the recipient to have an account on Steam and they would obviously need a machine that could run the kinds of games that the customers would buy for them as a gift. So it’s best to make sure that the conditions are met before purchasing.
