Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, has heavily boosted its holdings of Bitcoin by buying 22,048 BTC for about $1.92 billion. This purchase, finished by March 30, 2025, is the firm's biggest Bitcoin acquisition of the year to date, raising their total to 528,185 BTC, worth more than $43 billion. The average price paid for this latest acquisition was $86,969 per Bitcoin.
In total, Strategy has so far invested approximately $35.63 billion in Bitcoin, which it bought at an average cost of $67,458 per coin. Common stock and preferred shares were used to finance the latest acquisition amounting to approximately $1.2 billion that was raised during the week leading up to the purchase. Given that Bitcoin trades at around $82,000 currently, lower than the cost at which it was acquired, Strategy's stakes have appreciated immensely since the point of investment.
In 2025, Strategy's Bitcoin holdings have yielded an 11.0% return year-to-date, with unrealized gains of around $7.77 billion. This translates to an ROI of about 21.81% across all Bitcoin purchases. These strategic moves demonstrate Strategy's ongoing commitment to accumulating Bitcoin, regardless of market volatility, reinforcing their belief in its long-term value as a hedge against inflation and currency devaluation.
