The annual Tellabs Partner Conference brought together our partner ecosystem to announce new products and programs, conduct sales and technical training, and to celebrate strong 2016 growth evident by further traction into government, hospitality, education and business enterprise markets.
DALLAS, March 16, 2017 -- Tellabs, the leading provider of Passive Optical LAN (POL) solutions, hosted its 5th annual Global Partner Conference in Dallas, Texas. This annual event is focused on Tellabs’ system integrators, resellers, alliance vendors and distribution channels, which are driving Tellabs Optical LAN (OLAN) expansion around the world.
“Through the efforts of our system integrators and resellers, Tellabs continues to lead the industry as the most chosen enterprise-centric Passive Optical LAN solution with record high Tellabs OLAN installations and revenue,” said Mike Dagenais, Tellabs President and CEO. “Tellabs Optical LAN provides a simple, secure, stable and scalable enterprise network solution that allows our customers, integrators, resellers and partners to accelerate their business."
One of the highlights of the event was the panel discussion with Tellabs Optical LAN customers representing federal government, hospitality and education markets. Each customer brought a unique prospective on why they chose Optical LAN as well as the impact that OLAN has had on their business.
“The hotel guest experience is most important to us. It is what differentiates us from others. High speed connectivity is extremely important to our guests. A Passive Optical LAN deployment gives us the best opportunity to deliver the greatest level guest experience,” said Farukh Aslam, Sinclair Holdings Owner.
“We did not have the physical room to do a traditional network upgrade since we had no space in our telecom closets and no space in our pathways. With the Optical LAN design, we did not need to build new telecom rooms and we significantly reduced the size of the conduits. Those were a big plus for the existing residence building as space is at a premium. For the new buildings, this is a big plus for architects who are fighting to save every square inch as usable floor space,” said David Lester, Ryerson University Manager Communication Infrastructure Services.
Other popular conference moments included product announcements introducing new ONTs and software enhancements. There was expanded participation from our growing number of vendor alliance partners, who provide innovative solutions that compliment and optimize enterprise fiber-based LAN implementations. Our attendees graciously contributed their time to a team workshop and community service project that benefited the Homeless Coalition of Dallas.
“The theme for our Partner Conference this year was ‘Focused on You’. We have a great ecosystem of partners, and we were able to demonstrate our continued efforts to support their success. The 2017 initiatives we announced reflect our ongoing efforts to understand our partners and deliver continuous, meaningful improvements,” said Dave Cunningham, Tellabs Director of Marketing.
