‘Suits’ Season 6, Episode 12 Spoilers: "The Painting" - Harvey Gets Emotional During Reunion with Estranged Mother; Mike Receives Help from Unexpected Place

‘Suits’ season 6’s episode 12, titled "The Painting," will feature Harvey as he gets emotional during the reunion between him and his estranged mother Lily. Meanwhile, Mike is set to receive help from an unexpected place.

According to the synopsis posted on TV Guide, the upcoming episode is set to feature Harvey (Gabriel Macht) as he gets back in contact with his estranged mother Lily (Brinn Thayer) after some prodding by Donna (Sarah Rafferty) to reconcile with his difficult past. The synopsis for “The Painting” reads, “Harvey tries to repair a broken relationship, leaving Louis (Rick Hoffman), Donna and Rachel (Meghan Markle) to manage PSL in his absence. Meanwhile, Mike (Patrick J. Adams) gets a helping hand from an unexpected place.”

The promo showed Lily getting an unexpected visit from her son Harvey. Harvey has been trying to stay away from his mother after he caught her cheating on his father Gordon Specter when he was 16 years old. Harvey kept the affair a secret from Gordon but Lily eventually left her family for another man.

When Lily asks Harvey what he was doing at her place, Harvey replies, “I don’t want to be angry anymore but I don’t want to stop.” It seems that Harvey’s attempts to reconcile with his past will get even more complicated he meets the other man in his mother’s life. It seems that the family reunion will take place at Gordon’s wake.

Harvey angrily accuses his mother, “You spit in dad’s face for bringing him here!” In the next scene, the man yells, “You think you can just come into our lives and rip open old wounds?” Harvey then challenges the man to a fight.

Executive producer Aaron Korsh revealed during an interview with TV Line that the upcoming episode will feature some flashbacks intermingled with present-day events. Korsh said, "[Harvey] is both going to be hesitant and he is going to go see his mom… Episode 12, ultimately, is a flashback episode combined with a present-day episode where he goes to see his mom.”

Meanwhile, Mike will continue to deal with his own personal challenges. When asked whether Mike will return to Pearson Specter Litt, Korsh explained, “We handle that right away in [Episode] 12. The dual track of 12 is Harvey going off to make things right, hopefully, with his mom, and Mike figuring out what he’s going to do next and finding out where it’s going to lead.”

‘Suits’ season 6’s episode 12, titled "The Painting," is expected to air on the USA Network on February 1, 2017. It will be followed by episode 13, titled "Teeth, Nose, Teeth," scheduled for February 8.
