‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 17, titled “Distant Sun,” will follow Alex as she and Maggie bump into Maggie’s ex-girlfriend, Emily. Meanwhile, Lynda Carter of ‘Wonder Woman’ fame is set to return to the show as President Marsdin.
The synopsis for “Distant Sun” posted on TV.com reads, “A large bounty is put out on Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and aliens from far and near attack National City intent on taking out the woman of steel;
Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) run into Maggie's ex-girlfriend, Emily, who is in town for a week; Hank (David Harewood) gets an interesting order from President Marsdin (Lynda Carter).”
Things are about to get interesting for Alex and Maggie when the two bump into Emily, who is surprisingly back in town for a week. This will obviously put all girls in an awkward situation. According to TVLine, Lima previously teased, “An ex-girlfriend (played by Cedar Cove‘s Hayley Sales) shows up, and it’s a shocking moment for Maggie to run into her — while Alex is with her.”
She added, ““We are just walking outside of yoga class, and it was one of those moments where I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ve done that, run into an ex with a new partner!’”
A promotional photograph for the upcoming episode posted on TV Fanatic also hints at the return of Mon-El’s (Chris Wood) mother Queen Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher). Things didn’t turn out too well for Kara and Mon-El when the latter’s parents appear on Earth. It was revealed that he was the prince of Daxam – a secret that didn’t sit well with Kara.
Lynda Carter will also return to the show as President Marsdin as she tasks Hank with a new mission.
‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 17, titled “Distant Sun,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 27, 2017. It was directed by Kevin Smith and written by Gabriel Llanas and Anna Musky-Goldwyn. It will be followed by episode 18, titled "Ace Reporter."
