Suri Cruise is one of the most popular kids in Hollywood, although she is not exactly working in the entertainment business. She is the daughter of Tom Cruise, an A-list actor and Katie Holmes, so it is no wonder that the 14-year-old will also be as famous as her parents.
It was unfortunate that Holmes and Tom Cruise broke up, but it is clear that they may not really be meant for each other. Their split naturally affected their daughter Suri, and one of the harshest effects is that she can’t see her dad.
It is believed that since 2012, Tom and Suri Cruise never saw each other, and their reunion has yet to happen. There were reports that they have attempted to meet up, but it always ended up to nothing but just all talk. So, what could be keeping the father and daughter from seeing each other?
The reason for Tom and Suri’s estrangement
While no one really knows if Tom and Suri Cruise never really got in touch since being separated from each other, a former Scientology member seemed to have confirmed that they have not communicated all this time. As per US Weekly, Samantha Domingo, former Scientologist who left the church in 2004, revealed that the reason why the “Mission Impossible” actor does not have a relationship with Suri is because Katie Holmes’ daughter is not a Scientologist.
Another source stated that members of Scientology are allowed to see their child if they wanted to and suggested that in Suri Cruise’s case, it was the actor who has chosen not to communicate with his daughter. Domingo shared another possible reason why the actor may have opted no to see Suri.
“Members of the Church are big believers in reincarnation,” she said. “So their viewpoint is that “Suri’s not really his daughter and she’s just a spiritual being in his daughter’s body.”
Did Tom change his mind?
In any case, New Idea reported that Tom Cruise wants to reconnect with Suri again. Although he did not use his rights for 10 days visiting permission per month, he now wants to be in his daughter’s life.
The magazine wrote that he wants to bond with her and in fact, he already contacted Katie Holmes to make the request. However, this report is still unverified as no other news outlets are picking up the story.
