Suri Cruise turned 14 more than two weeks ago, but because of the lockdown, she celebrated her big day at home. Katie Holmes shared some photos of the celebration, and it was indeed very simple.
Through the photos of Suri’s recent birthday, it is easy to see that it was in stark contrast to how she celebrated last year. Last year, it was reported that Katie Holmes spent a staggering $200,000 just to make her daughter really happy on her special day.

For people who are wondering how her celebration cost this much, it is because Suri Cruise was said to have invited her friends, and they traveled altogether in Paris for her birthday. Australia’s Woman’s Day claimed that the “Dawson’s Creek” star accompanied her daughter and her friends, and they indulged in first-class flights, five-star hotels, and sumptuous meals.
“It was every teenage girl’s dream come true,” a source supposedly told the magazine. “This was a special weekend. And Katie made it clear to Suri that she should not take things for granted.”
People further reported that the Paris getaway with two of Suri Cruise’s best friends was really grand and described it as a VIP-style party. It was added that the teenager’s party was held at the rooftop of the posh Les Ombres restaurant.
The actress and the girls are said to have dressed in matching floral party dresses and had a caviar tasting session. They partied for just an hour and a half, then left a $100 tip for the waitress who served them.

But then again, even if this was reported in several magazines, Gossip Cop debunked the claims that Suri Cruise’s party was worth $200,000. The publication pointed out that while it is true that Katie Holmes arranged a lavish getaway for her daughter’s birthday, the amount she spent was much less than what was reported.
The fact-checking site also stated that this is not the first time that Woman’s Day made a false allegation on Suri Cruise and her mom. It has repeatedly published fabricated articles about the teenager, and the topics were mostly about her false reunion with Tom Cruise and her supposed “running away” from home to be with her dad.
