Kirito is really back, and he did not disappoint his friends when he single-handedly defeated the enemies in the Underworld. “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 21 will now show the aftermath of the powerful battle that showcased Kirito’s true powers.

In the “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 20 titled “The Night-Sky Blade," Kirito sets out to save Alice after defeating Vassago. He and Asuna head to the World’s End Altar, and when they arrived, Alice was so happy to see Kirito back.
However, he needs to face one more villain who is probably his most powerful opponent in the Underworld. To save Alice, he will face Gabriel Miller or Subtilizer, who was formerly known as Vecta too. After Bercouli killed him, he returned to the UW using the new avatar Subtilizer.
Kirito also talked and apologized to Seijirou Kikuoka and told him that they would be back in the real world soon. Asuna, who was with Kirito, told Alice that they need to log out before the Altar closes. If they can’t do this, they will be stuck in the virtual world for a long time.
On the other hand, Kirito and Gabriel are already in the heat of the battle, and fortunately, he was able to beat Gabriel. He now runs towards the Altar, but he knows it was too late; he did not make it on time to log out from the UW.
In any case, Kirito used his sword to seal the giant tree that the villagers in the Underworld could not uproot. They also failed to chop it down, but Kirito did so.

“Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 21 titled "Beyond Time" is next up. In this chapter’s preview, Kirito could be seen running towards the World’s End Altar, and when he was near it, he walked slowly.
Kirito then said: “Now then, 200 years huh? Asuna, Sinon, Leafa and everyone...I’m sorry.” He then burst into tears and it was understandable since he is now stuck in the UW for almost forever. Just then, Asuna walked towards him, and he realized that she did not log out as well, and he was surprised.
It is yet to see if the two are really stuck there, or there is still a way for them to return to the real world. Finally, “Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld” episode 21 is set to be released on Sept. 6, as per Otakukart.
