The inaugural conference of the TCI Asia Chapter kick started on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Daegu, South Korea.
TCI Asia Chapter is a non-profit regional initiative of TCI Network, a global network of main organizations and practitioners with deep expertise in clusters and competitiveness, who collaborate to advance in the practice of competitiveness, innovation, and cluster development. Its key objective is to establish a central body to oversee a cooperative network of clusters and companies in Asia.
“The TCI Asia Chapter aims to create a platform for learning and exchanging experiences, exploring how the broader principles of cluster-based economic development are playing out in the Asian context,” Christian Ketels, President, TCI Network, said in a statement. “It sets out to support activities and projects that cluster practitioners and organizations in Asia identify and prioritize, driven by TCI’s mission to support the effective use of cluster-based economic development approaches as tools to raise the competitiveness and innovative capacity of firms, cities, regions and countries throughout the world.”
Over 100 attendees from different countries are attending the first TCI Asian Industrial Cluster Competitiveness Conference. The conference aims to promote strategic industries and improve business competitiveness for the future economic growth in Asia.
