Tesla has extended its Full Self-Driving (FSD) free trial for an additional 30 days, reaching more EV owners, including current subscribers. The move signals Tesla's push to familiarize its customers with its advanced driver-assist system as FSD V13 nears release.
Tesla Extends Full Self-Driving Trials for Owners
Several Tesla owners have taken to social media to share the good news that their 30-day free trials of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) have been extended. It appears that monthly FSD members are also receiving the longer FSD free trial time.
Tesla Bets Big on Full Self-Driving
It was clear during Tesla's Q3 2024 earnings call that the electric vehicle maker is putting a lot of faith on FSD's future performance.
In light of the fact that FSD is fundamental to vehicle platforms like the Robovan and Cybercab, it is not surprising that Tesla is exerting great effort to educate its customer base about the potential of the advanced driver aid system.
Social Media Buzz Around FSD Trial Extensions
On X, a number of EV owners first spread the word about Tesla's longer FSD free trial time.
An extension of the "30-day complimentary trial for Full Self-Driving (Supervised)" has been announced, according to screenshots supplied by Tesla owners. "If you have an active FSD (Supervised) subscription, 30 days of free Full Self-Driving Capability will be added to your vehicle," the statement further implied.
Why Is Tesla Extending the Free Trials?
The reasoning for Tesla's decision to prolong the FSD (Supervised) free trial period is unclear, but the extension could be an effort to give more customers a chance to try out the advanced driver-assist technology.
FSD V13 Release Is Likely Imminent
After all, the Tesla AI team announced in a September X post that they were planning to release FSD V13 in October.
The Tesla AI team has been consistently successful in reaching their timelines, in contrast to the company's shaky track record of self-imposed timetables.
This became clear in September, according to Teslarati, when features like the Cybertruck's FSD and Actually Smart Summon (A.S.S.) were released before the team's deadline that they set for themselves. Maybe FSD V13 is on the horizon, given the track record of the Tesla AI team.
