Tesla is known for its electric cars that go really fast and are expensive as heck. While it is expected to conquer a significant chunk of the auto industry in a few years due to its expertise, it seems CEO Elon Musk wants to expand a bit. In a recent announcement, the billionaire revealed that his company would be producing Semi trucks as well.
Musk made the announcement via Twitter where he said that Tesla would be unveiling the new, bigger set of wheels later this year. From his enthusiasm, it seems the truck is definitely something to look forward to.
Tesla Semi truck unveil set for September. Team has done an amazing job. Seriously next level.

“Tesla Semi truck unveil set for September,” the post reads. “Team has done an amazing job. Seriously next level.”
Tesla has been expanding into several territories within the auto industry for some time now. First, it was the mass consumer market, with its Model 3. Now, it’s the logistics sector with its electric trucks. Musk had already hinted at the possibility of this happening and that the Semis might actually come equipped with autonomous technology, The Los Angeles Times reports.
In the same Twitter thread, Musk also wrote that pickup trucks are going to be unveiled in 18 to 24 months. It seems Tesla is really gearing up to compete with Ford, which the electric car firm recently beat in terms of market value.
As to how the company intends to achieve such goals, it would be easy enough when the Gigafactory is finally complete and fully functional. On top of that, Tesla has already shared its plans to open another one somewhere else, with Europe being a strong contender. These gigantic facilities are meant to produce more than just vehicles as well, Futurism reports, with battery packs and cross-country power grids also in the works.
