There is still a significantly long wait ahead before fans can watch the new episodes in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2. But it will be worth it as the upcoming installment is most likely covering the story arc where Rimuru achieves the True Demon Lord status.

Fans who have been following the manga or the web novel series might have noticed some clues from season 1 that the next arc would be centered on Rimuru’s mega Demon Lord promotion. Some of the characters have even mentioned and briefly explained at some point in season 1 what it means to be a True Demon Lord. It now makes sense that “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 will be focusing on that character development for the main protagonist.

Monsters & Critics also pointed out that someone, Rimuru in this case, needs to experience to fall down first before going on the path of becoming a True Demon Lord. And fans can expect for Rimuru to experience some major problems and even a literally near-death experience in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2.

Fans may recall that someone was spying on Rimuru as he was preparing to leave Tempest in the season 1 finale. As earlier reported, that is Hinata Sakaguchi and she will successfully ambush Rimuru in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 leading to an almost fatal injury. While Rimuru’s journey gets interrupted by Hinata, Tempest will be attacked by the church and other adversaries. Without Rimuru, Tempest almost falls down to the hands of its enemies.

Fans should not worry, though, as Rimuru will soon get healed and will be able to return to Tempest. From almost getting crushed by the enemies, Tempest will become a more formidable monster country.

“To everyone who went against us, we will bare our fangs and retaliate. To everyone who lends their hands to us, we will grant our blessing to them,” Rimuru said when Tempest was officially founded in season 1. “To our opponents, we will do to them what they have done to us. In the future, I hope that we can be linked in friendship one day.” Expect him to keep this promise in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 to be released in 2020.
