As Reddington (James Spader) works on his case, he also has to discreetly stop Liz (Megan Boone) from finding the man who knows his real identity. The teasers for “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 6 suggest that it is a close race.
The promo video for “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 6 reveals Liz gets a lead on a person who can give her all the answer she needs. To recap, the fifth season revealed that Reddington is not Liz’s father. She concluded that Red might have something to do with the death of his father.
Red is seen talking to Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) in “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 6 promo video saying Liz will stop at nothing to find the mystery person. Meanwhile, Liz also speaks with someone – presumably Jennifer (Fiona Dourif) – saying they are “so close” to finding the truth. On the other hand, Red tells Dembe he already knows what to do. And in the world of thriller-themed shows, it usually means someone will end up dead.
While Red entrusts this issue with Dembe, the FBI’s most wanted criminal will continue building his case. Red will request a psych evaluation in “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 6, which the court will approve. His real motive is still unknown but he is unlikely planning a prison break. It is more possible that he just wants to prolong the proceedings to make time for whatever his original plans are.
Red is also going to stay in federal prison for a little longer. The synopsis for episode 7 confirms the return of Glen (Clark Middleton) who is working at the Department of Motor Vehicles and doubles as a skip tracer for crime bosses like Red. His access to people’s records will likely be utilized by Red to see who among the potential jury members might favor him in the upcoming trial. New episodes of “The Blacklist” season 6 air every Friday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
