“The Flash” season 5 is not going to air for a few more months. But more clues are surfacing online hinting at possible stories to unfold in the next installment. For one, there is a chance that Dr. Caitlin Snow a.k.a. Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is going to meet her father for the first time.
A lot of fans were amazed by the appearance of Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash’s (Grant Gustin) daughter from the future named Nora Allen II (Jessica Parker Kennedy). It has been the talk of the town when season 4 concluded. But some might have also caught the innuendos that “The Flash” season 5 is going to dig deeper into Caitlin’s backstory.
Towards the end of season 4, the series scratched on some storylines involving Caitlin’s father and the real origin of her powers. Recently, more clues have appeared suggesting that “The Flash” season 5 will, indeed, feature Caitlin’s dad.
According to That Hashtag Show, producers are casting for a “Caucasian male in his 50s for “The Flash” season 5. The report linked this to the possibility that the production is looking for the actor to portray the role of Caitlin’s father.
There are no specific details about this character yet or who is going to take the role but it is expected to be a recurring guest character in “The Flash” season 5. The same report suggests that Caitlin’s father is going to return to Central City and win back the trust of his daughter. But whether he is a friend to Team Flash or not is likely one of the mysteries to be solved in “The Flash” season 5.

Meanwhile, there are even more clues appearing that Caitlin’s family and superpower background are some of the focal points of “The Flash” season 5. Aside from the speculated casting for the role of her father, one thing is certain now — Carla Tannhauser (Susan Walters) a.k.a. Caitlin’s mom is returning in “The Flash” season 5. Walters confirmed the news through a Twitter post on Thursday. Carla’s last appearance in the series was in season 2.
It is now starting to look like “The Flash” season 5 will be one big family affair, with Barry and Iris West’s (Candice Patton) daughter, Nora, coming in and with Caitlin’s family expected to be reunited as well. “The Flash” season 5 is set to start airing on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
