“The Flash” season 5 will hit the small screens in the last quarter of this year, and before that happens, The CW revealed some interesting details about what fans can expect from the series. Most of the new info was revealed by the show’s executive producer, Todd Helbing, at the San Diego Comic-Con.
For starters, a trailer for “The Flash” season 5 was dropped during the event, and it showed many exciting scenes like the arrival of Barry Allen’s daughter, who came from the future. Her name is Nora Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and she time-traveled to get her dad to fix her mistakes.
“The Flash” season 5 trailer showed a very surprised Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and team when the newly arrived lady revealed that she is his daughter. What’s more, she confessed that she committed some mistakes and she is actually asking him to put them right.
However, it appears that Flash and his team will have to work a lot as Nora Allen seems to have made more than just one mistake. As said by Todd Helbing to Entertainment Weekly during the SDCC 2018, "There's a bunch of big mistakes, and they're coming. It's not just one."
Although the executive producer disclosed the plot for “The Flash” season 5 episode 1, he did not elaborate on what errors that Barry’s daughter could have possibly committed. But, judging by the content of the trailer, it could be something big.
She came to the past to ask her father to straighten out the errors, so it is possible that her wrong actions could be a great danger for everyone, and this is why she needs help. In any case, based on the preview, Nora Allen is also a speedster who is being called XS.
Other spoilers for “The Flash” season 5 involve the identity of the new supervillain. It is someone called Cicada. This antagonist possesses telekinetic powers and his goal is to kill everyone that Barry Allen saved.
As per TV Line, Cicada is going to be played by "American Pie’s" Chris Klein. At the Comic-Con, The CW stated that Cicada is a “grizzled, blue-collar everyman whose family has been torn apart by metahumans. He views the rise of metas as an epidemic, and seeks to exterminate them one by one.”
“The Flash” season 5 is coming back in October via Sky Atlantic and The CW.
