After an almost two-month hiatus, “The Flash” season 6 episode 10 will finally air on February 4, 2020. The show left its fans wondering what’s in store for the future when December’s mid-season finale virtually killed everyone except for a handful of paragons.
But the show must go on and as revealed by the released photo back in December, someone did survive. An injured Iris was seen in the picture with a bandaged right arm so it’s comforting to know that some people managed to survive the crisis.
Now a recently released “The Flash” season 6 episode 10 trailer reveals that everyone seems okay and there seems to be a new group of baddies in town. Of course, those who have been following the Arrowverse crossover event would already know how earth survived the crisis but for purely “The Flash” fans, it can be a bit perplexing.
Thankfully, “The Flash” season 6 episode 10 teaser cleared things up a bit. While everything looks okay on the surface, life on earth has drastically changed for everyone after the crisis.
“The crisis is over and you didn’t die,” Iris said to Barry. “No dark future looming over us.” The couple is seen dining in a restaurant.
But hints of trouble came from a TV report. “A secret organization has been operating in Central City,” the newscaster can be heard saying. Iris can be seen hiding behind a car as she probably witnessed something. “These people, they live in the darkness,” a man said to Barry. “In the absence of light, they will not be brought out of the shadows easily.”
It was Cisco who finally reveals that nothing on earth is the same since the crisis. “Now that the multiverse is gone, physic has changed entirely,” Cisco said.
Barry later confirms that earth was actually destroyed but later rebuilt. “Earth was rebuilt,” Barry said. “I have to do everything I can to protect it.”
But the post-crisis world is far from peaceful. In fact, it may be even more dangerous than the original one. “Earth has more threats and we don’t’ know where they’re coming from,” Cisco lamented.
Meanwhile, Barry notices that Iris has changed and wants more independence. “Something’s off,” Barry. “You’ve been acting kind of different.”
“I had to start planning for a life without you,” Iris responded. She was later seen entering a bar alone.
But Iris might have bitten off more than she can chew. “I have to expose this organization,” she said. Shortly later, Barry can be heard yelling “Get out of there.” An explosion ensues.
But Iris remains adamant about striking it on her own. “I can’t be your damsel in distress anymore,” she said.
Meanwhile, Cisco is seen complaining to Cailin as the two contemplate the changes brought by the crisis. “Our timeline has been rewritten” Cisco said.
“With all these changes to our reality, maybe figure out who you want to be in this post-Crisis world” Caitlin then responds.
The upcoming episode’s synopsis reveals that Iris’s life will be threatened. In fact, she will be attacked, resulting in her injuries that were revealed in the photo released last December.
“After The Citizen prints an explosive story, Iris’s (Candice Patton) life is threatened,” the synopsis reads, according to CarterMatt. “Refusing to hide from those that are attacking her, Iris sets out to expose a dangerous organization. Meanwhile, Barry (Grant Gustin) must face the consequences of the Crisis and fulfill Oliver Queen’s wish for him. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Lauren Barnett (#610). Original airdate 2/4/2020.”
