The many years it took before “The Irregular at Magic High School,” season 2 is only adding to the anticipation of the show’s return to the small screen. While its production faced some hiccups due to a global pandemic, producers have recently reassured fans its premiere is unlikely to get delayed for a second time.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date
The production of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 needed to be postponed in April to protect the people working on it from COVID-19. If not for this unfortunate event, the show would have been given a release date this month.
Waiting for a few more months should be nothing compared to what avid fans went through since the end of season 1. The anime’s first run was completed in 2014, but “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was not announced until last fall.
During the Aniplex Online Fest earlier this month, Eight Bit studio released four new screenshots from scenes included in “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. With these images, producers also reaffirmed its plan of releasing the new episodes starting in October. However, a specific date remains unknown.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2’s newest addition has a big secret
The new image teasers also give fans another look at the new character arriving in “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. Her name is Lina, which is short for Angelina, and she will arrive in Japan from the USNA as a foreign exchange student.

However, studying magic is not the real purpose of why she is halfway around the world. She is actually arriving in “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2, carrying orders from the leaders of USNA that could eventually put Tatsuya’s life at risk.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 cast: Voice actors reprise their roles after several years
One of the reasons long-time fans should be excited about “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is its cast of voice actors. When the series renewal was announced last year, it was also confirmed that the voice actors from season 1 in 2014 would be reprising their role.
It means Yuichi Nakamura and Saori Hayami will once again lend their voices for Tatsuya and Miyuki, respectively. The same goes for Lina, who was voiced by Yoko Hikasa when the character was introduced in the 2017 movie “The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars.”
