The Binance NFT Marketplace will launch a premium NFT collection backed by the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia that will feature NFT artwork by the world-renowned artists’ Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, and Claude Monet.
The auction will be held from August 31 to September 7, 2021.
The Saint Petersburg-based museum is the world's largest art museum boasting some of the world’s finest masterpieces.
Russia’s Empress Catherine the Great started the impressively sized art collection back in 1764.
The NFT collection consists of works such as the Madonna Litta of Leonardo da Vinci, Judith of Giorgione, Lilac Bush of Vincent van Gogh, Composition VI of Wassily Kandinsky, and Corner of the Garden at Montgeron of Claude Monet.
Each digital copy is personally signed by Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage, confirming the authenticity of a limited series of works.
Mikhail Borisovich Piotrovsky, Hermitage general director, noted that new technologies, such as the blockchain, have opened up a new chapter in the art market development, led by ownership and ownership of the guarantee.
The auction will start with 5 NFTs each with a starting bid of 10,000 BUSD.
