Netflix is full to the brim with returning Marvel TV shows and “The Punisher” Season 2 is one of them. However, unlike the other series titles on the list, the specific date for Frank Castle’s (John Bernthal) return has not been officially confirmed. On that note, a few details about the show have been released, including the fact that Billy Russo has been kicked to the curb, with the show still looking for its main bad guy.
The last official trailer coming out of Netflix with regards to “The Punisher” Season 2 is the announcement clip that was posted on Twitter back in December 2017. It just said the same thing that fans were already expecting, especially after the amazing reception that the show got.

On that note, considering just how crowded the Netflix timeline for returning Marvel shows has become, fans should not expect “The Punisher” Season 2 to come out in 2018. At best, the show is expected to air around early 2019, Radio Times notes. In the meantime, superhero fans will have to content themselves with “Daredevil” Season 3, which should come out later this year.
As for who will be coming back, John Bernthal will, of course, be returning to reprise his role as Frank Castle. His phenomenal performance in playing The Punisher has made him a fan favorite, even amongst the greater Marvel fandom. Amber Rose Revah will also be coming back as Dinah Madani, and Jason R Moore will still be playing Curtis Hoyle. Finally, Ben Barnes is already busy slipping into the shoes of Billy Russo.
Comic book fans will already know that Billy will eventually be known as Jigsaw, featuring a mangled face courtesy of Frank’s brutal treatment. However, he won’t be the main bad guy in “The Punisher” Season 2. As Otaku Art reports, the show is still looking for its main villain, but Jigsaw will still be causing some trouble for the anti-hero.
