The Open House began at 5pm welcoming attendees with light refreshments and beverages.
The Center offered concert-goers a place to find out about Scientology. Many learned that the Church is an all-denominational religion and how Scientology offers tools that people can use in their lives to better understand the mind, spirit and life.
The guests from cities all over Florida and different religions looked at panels and watched videos about Scientology’s beliefs. The Center provides interactive displays and information about Scientology’s beliefs, Churches around the world, its social betterment programs and the Founder of Scientology – Mr. L. Ron Hubbard.
Before leaving for the night, guests chose from a number of complimentary educational materials about the Church and its social betterment programs to take with them. Freedom Magazine, the voice of the Church of Scientology, was the item guests selected the most.
History and architecture buffs learned about the Clearwater Building’s history – the 100 year old building which was once the first bank of Clearwater. The historic features of the building include 30 foot ceilings with intricate dental molding, 100 year-old marble on sections of the floor, as well as other fascinating features.
One woman, a long-time resident, remarked, “I used to work for the Chamber of Commerce in the 60’s when this was still the Bank of Clearwater. It is much more beautiful now than it ever was back then. I just love old architecture and the fact that the Church of Scientology has restored the building.”
About the Church of Scientology:
The Scientology religious philosophy was founded by L. Ron Hubbard. The first Church of Scientology was formed in the United States in 1954 and has expanded to more than 11,000 churches, missions and affiliated groups, in 167 nations. Scientologists are optimistic about life and believe there is hope for a saner world and better civilization, and actively do all they can to help achieve this.
