“The Umbrella Academy” season 2 is confirmed to return soon. In fact, Netflix just announced that the cast and crew are back on the set and filming has begun already.
The series was launched in February and it was well-received with millions of Netflix subscribers tuning in to the show. Apparently, the viewers love the idea of a dysfunctional family that is actually made up of superheroes. The concept alone sounds fun and based on the feedback, the show did not disappoint and they are now waiting for “The Umbrella Academy” season 2.

It was adapted from comics authored by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The drama tells the story of a family where the siblings were all adopted. They are a group of misfits who went on their separate ways after reaching their teenage years.
The siblings were forced to band together again when their adoptive father died because they were left with a mission to stop the predicted apocalypse.
In any case, Aidan Gallagher, one of the siblings and known as the Number Five in the series, teased fans about the new installment when he posted a short clip of “The Umbrella Academy” season 2 filming. Last week, he updated his Instagram with the video and wrote: “Season two starts now!”
When “The Umbrella” season 2 returns, fans will see how Vanya (Ellen Page) will transform after discovering how powerful she is. The rest of the plot is still a mystery but it was revealed that the second season has been titled “Mercury.”
Radio Times also quoted Gallagher as saying that “The Umbrella” season 2 would be mindblowing. “It will be way better than season one,” he said. “Our showrunner Steve is the best writer and has the best writing staff. It will be epic.”
All the lead actors are expected to be in “The Umbrella” season 2 again. Most of them have already signed for the next installment and they are Robert Sheehan, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, and Emmy Raver-Lampman.
Finally, the release date for “The Umbrella” season 2 is still unknown but since it may take a year for the whole 10 episodes to be filmed, the predicted air date is in 2020.
