“This Is Us” season 3 filming finally resumed on Tuesday. It was the show’s creator, Dan Fogelman, who personally delivered the good news and fans are rejoicing.
On Twitter, Fogelman updated his account by posting a photo that shows Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson) and Sterling K. Brown (Randall Pearson) on the set. The image was captioned “First scene up, Season 3 baby!” and at the end, he added the hashtag #ThisIsUs.

Then again, it appears that Chrissy Metz, who plays Kate Pearson in the drama, was actually the first to reveal to the world that they are back filming “This Is Us” season 3. In her Instagram post, she shared how happy she is for being reunited with her castmates and the series’s crew.
“Tomorrow we officially start shooting season three of @nbcthisisus! Y’all, it feels like the night before the first day of school!” she wrote.
So, what is there to look forward to in “This Is Us” season 3?
In the previous season, there were major deaths but that was not the end for characters. Take note that the series has lots of going back and forth to the past and future, so this format makes it easy for any character to come back.
In any case, fans are assured that aside from Brown, Watson and Metz, other cast members, including Milo Ventimiglia (Jack Pearson), Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson) and Justin Hartley (Kevin Pearson) are coming back to give life to their beloved roles once again. Of course, the young stars who portray the younger versions of the adult characters are returning as well.
Other artists who are likely to reprise their roles in “This Is Us” season 3 are Chris Sullivan (Toby Damon), Alexandra Breckenridge (Sophie) and Jon Huertas (Miguel Rivas). Also, there will be guest stars along the way, and some who have already appeared in the drama could make special appearances again.
For the story spoiler of “This Is Us” season 3, it will pick up where it left off in season 2. In the last episode, viewers saw the heartbreaking scenes of Jack Pearson’s death, but Milo Ventimiglia hinted that his character’s story is not yet over. In his previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed that the show will go forward from there.
Chrissy Moretz also dropped some major spoilers when she disclosed that the cliffhanger ending of the previous season where viewers were left asking, “Who is her? Is it Beth? Deja? or Annie?” is something that is not good. She said that it is actually heartbreaking.
“This Is Us” season 3 is returning on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
