Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed late Tuesday that the company will be starting to ship its highly-anticipated set-top box on October 26.
At the Wall Street Journal’s WSJD Conference, Cook was quoted as saying that the company will be taking orders for the new Apple TV on Monday that week, with shipments starting before the weekend, Mac Rumors wrote. The fourth-generation Apple TV is priced at USD149 with 32GB of storage, USD199 for customers opting for 64GB storage.
Ars Technica said that Apple has made some improvements on the new set-top box. Its biggest addition is reportedly the full-fledged store app that allows users to avail of video streaming apps and games. Moreover, Apple TV vows to bring faster internals, but somehow misses a 4K output, the site said. The Siri remote was also another significant improvement, now in a slick black unit with a small trackpad at the top to allow users to browse through content via swiping.
