“Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 may be confusing fans of the manga with its fast-paced adaptation of the popular publication but fans who persist in watching the animation can still enjoy the current installment's most powerful moments. In “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 episode 3, it looks like Ken Kaneki will finally seal his fate as an enemy of the CCG but at what cost will Kaneki realize his role?
Fans already know that Sasaki needed to regain his memories of Ken Kaneki before he would be able to take on the mantle of the One-Eyed King. This is why it seems that the battle between Sasaki and Kishou Arima in the episode prior to “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 episode 3 was necessary for him to recover his memories. With Ken Kaneki's memories restored, fans may be wondering if Arima's death is a necessary part of the whole ordeal.
Fans of the manga will know that Kishou Arima has always been a double agent against the CCG and is known in the shadows as the One-Eyed King. In his eyes, he needs to die before being able to pass on the title to the younger half-ghoul. Fans can expect “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 episode 3 to focus on Kaneki's hesitance at killing his former mentor and friend. If Kaneki is not strong enough to finish the job himself – much like in the manga – Arima may be the one to end his own life to effectively pass on the mantle.
According to OtakuKart, “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 episode 3 will feature Ken Kaneki finally saying goodbye to Arima's corpse before he will be escorted out of Cochlea by the Sunlit Garden children. Fans can also expect other pocket battles happening throughout the upcoming episode, with Tatara and Takizawa to feature in an intense fight.
Fans looking forward to seeing the aftermath of the battle between Kaneki and Arima can catch “Tokyo Ghoul” season 4 episode 3 when it airs during its weekly Tuesday schedule on Oct. 23. Fans can also stream the upcoming episode on Crunchyroll.
