Top 4 Travel Trends to Anticipate in 2017

We’re just around the corner from 2017 and there are already some exciting new trends shaping up for the year. In the travel category, we’re seeing a huge increase in the number of casual travellers as we get closer to the end of 2017. That same growth will continue next year. More importantly, there are certain ways to travel that will also be hot in 2017. We’re going to take a closer look at the top four travel trends to anticipate in this article.

Glamping

Yes, it’s a weird word, but glamping is definitely going to be big in 2017. Glamping is short for glamorous camping, a type of travel or holiday that combines the adventures of camping and the luxury amenities we normally enjoy when staying at hotels or resorts.

There are already some interesting glamping sites popping up at different destinations, mainly near national parks or beaches with natural surroundings. Glamping is usually combined with some outdoor activities, making it suitable for individual travellers and families alike.

Road Trips

There will be more people taking road trips in 2017, especially across Europe and the UK. If you are planning to travel to the UK and take an extended road trip across the country, there are a few important things to prepare. Make sure you take the time to learn the highway code and are prepared for driving on the left of the road; check this site out for more information.

Another reason why road trips will be trending in 2017 is car rental companies making their services more widely available. Rental companies are competing with services such as Uber and Lyft, which is making renting a car for an extended period much easier to do.

Cruises

A few years ago, going on a cruise was a cool thing. While the best cruises are often associated with vacations for the elderly, there are some very interesting options to look into if you want to enjoy a couple of weeks at sea.

Modern cruises offer so much more than just the chance to hop from one port to another. There are cruise ships with casinos, pools and a vast array of entertainment options to enjoy. Those going on a cruise can also enjoy parties, usually scheduled to keep guests entertained in the evening.

Challenging Destinations

Last but certainly not least, we will see new, more challenging destinations creating headlines and attracting more travellers next year. An adventurous trip to Canada, for example, can be the perfect way to spend the summer. You can spend an entire week in the wilderness and get plenty of amazing memories to bring home.

Holiday activities are moving in the same direction too. Instead of a relaxing day at the beach, travellers are now looking for more thrilling activities such as sky diving and sailing. Expect to see a lot of travel packages and options designed around these activities next year.
