Toyota has recently launched its Innova Hycross-based MPV called Zenix in Malaysia, which will be manufactured in Indonesia. The model is available in two trims, with the option of two powertrain variations.
This 8-seater vehicle is petrol-only in Malaysia, and the transmission options include the CVT and e-CVT. The Zenix MPV's petrol engine produces 172 bhp of power, while the hybrid petrol engine produces 183 bhp.
Distinguishing it from the Innova Hycross, launched in India in December last year, would be challenging, as the Zenix MPV maintains a similar front fascia, sweptback LED headlights, sleeker air dams, and fog lamps. However, the Zenix MPV has subtle design differences on the rear door panels, including character lines and wraparound LED taillamps.
The MPV comes with standard safety features, such as 6 airbags, ESC (electronic stability control), ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking cameras, and more.
The Zenix MPV is more than just good looks, as it comes loaded with a wide range of features, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, black leatherette seat upholstery, a powered driver seat, an automatic climate control system, and a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster. Additionally, customers can choose from five color options, including Grey Metallic, Platinum White Pearl Mica, Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic, and Avant-garde Bronze Metallic.
An exciting aspect of the Zenix MPV is the option for a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree surround camera. A powered tailgate is also available for ultimate convenience, along with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS technology, cruise control, steering mounted controls, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and more.
The Zenix MPV is priced at 1,65,000 Malaysian Ringgit onwards, with the Innova Hycross starting at a modest 1,05,810 Ringgit up to 1,71,065 Ringgit.
