According to a report by JoBlo, Michael Bay’s upcoming installment in the popular ‘Transformers’ cinematic series will follow Optimus Prime’s hunt for a mysterious artifact on Earth in order to save his home planet Cybertron. After he realizes that he was at fault for the death of Cybertron, he goes after an artifact tied to the King Arthur lore – specifically to Merlin – in order to bring his planet back to life.
Another article on Hitfix pointed out the King Arthur reference may have been hidden in the fifth film’s official title ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’.
Meanwhile, Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins has signed on to play a yet unspecified role for the upcoming film. According to Movie Web, he may play a character named The Creator. Other new characters will also be introduced namely an English-accent transformer called Cogman and another transformer named Squeaks. Cogman’s alt-mode is an Aston Martin while Squeaks’ alt-mode is a Vespa.

His film grossed $1.1 billion worldwide following its premiere on June 2014. It earned $100 million on its opening weekend and went on to become the second highest-grossing film in the ‘Transformers’ film franchise.
