U.S. President Donald Trump announced Sunday that the United States military is carrying out a large-scale assault on Iran’s Navy, claiming that nine Iranian warships have already been destroyed and that additional vessels are being targeted. The statement, delivered through a social media post, comes as U.S. airstrikes on Iran intensify, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing military conflict between the two nations.
According to Trump, the Pentagon has expanded its bombing campaign against Iran’s military infrastructure. The U.S. deployed B-2 stealth bombers from American bases to conduct precision strikes on fortified and underground Iranian missile facilities. These bombers reportedly used 2,000-pound bombs to penetrate hardened targets, signaling a strategic effort to weaken Iran’s missile capabilities and naval power.
In addition to targeting missile installations, U.S. strikes heavily damaged Iran’s naval headquarters. Trump stated that the facility was largely destroyed, further undermining Iran’s ability to coordinate maritime operations. He also indicated that the U.S. plans to continue sinking the remaining Iranian warships, declaring that they would soon be “floating at the bottom of the sea.” In a sarcastic remark, Trump added, “Other than that, their Navy is doing very well!”
Meanwhile, Iran’s military has launched a significant retaliation. Hundreds of missiles and drones have reportedly been fired in response to the U.S. attacks, escalating tensions across the region. The U.S. Central Command confirmed that three American servicemembers were killed in combat operations on Sunday, marking the first reported U.S. military fatalities in the current confrontation. An additional five service members were seriously wounded.
The rapidly unfolding situation highlights rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with both sides engaging in sustained military operations. As U.S. airstrikes on Iran continue and Iran intensifies its missile and drone attacks, global leaders are closely monitoring the conflict’s potential impact on regional stability and international security.
