Turkey’s economic sentiment index rises sequentially in April

Turkey’s economic confidence index rose in April. The Turkish Statistical Institute showed that the economic sentiment index rose 3.4 percent to 84.7 in April from March’s 81.9. The rise in headline was driven by the rises in sub-indices.

The consumer confidence index rose 6.9 percent sequentially to 63.5 from March’s 59.4. Meanwhile, real sector confidence index was up 0.7 percent, reaching 100 from prior month’s 99.3.

The services sentiment index rose 1.9 percent sequentially to 83.1 from March’s index of 81.6. On the other hand the indices for retail trade confidence and construction sentiment fell 0.1 percent and 0.3 percent to 90.6 and 53.9, respectively, from March’s data of 90.7 and 54.1, respectively.
