Turkish consumer price index rises in March. On a sequential basis, the headline inflation rose 1.03 percent, whereas it rose 19.71 percent on a year-on-year basis. On the 12-months moving averages basis, it rose by 18.70 percent in March.
On a sequential basis, the highest rise was recorded in health, which saw a rise of 3.48 percent. The indices for food and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.44 percent, for education 1.45 percent, for transportation 0.75 percent and for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.67 percent. Communication was the only one recording a fall, a decrease of 0.29 percent.
On a year-on-year basis, food and non-alcoholic beverages recorded the annual rise of 29.77 percent in the month. Miscellaneous goods and services rose 27.94 percent, furnishing and household equipment saw a rise of 26.98 percent, recreation and culture saw a rise of 20.08 percent. Health recorded a rise of 19.72 percent.
A rise in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was seen on the previous month by 0.28 percent and by 17.72 percent on a year-on-year basis. On the 12-months moving averages basis, it rose by 18.15 percent.
