UK Election: All you need to know about election timeline

This week’s most important event is on Thursday when the UK goes into the snap general election called by Prime Minister Theresa May. All eyes will be on the UK to see who is going to lead the United Kingdom into Brexit negotiations and with how much support within the parliament. Here is a comprehensive guide to the timeline of events,

June 8th:

  • Polling stations will open at 7 am in the morning and will remain open until 10 pm in the night.
  • 11 pm: The very first results are expected to get announced from Houghton and Sunderland South.

June 9th:

  • 12 am: Early results will start coming from the North East, including Durham and Sunderland.
  • 1 am: The first marginal seat of Nun Eaton in Warwickshire expected to get declared.
  • 1:30 am: Results will start coming from North Wales.
  • 2:00 am: Results will start coming from all across the country.
  • 2:30 am: Jeremy Corbyn’s fate would get decided as the results would appear from his sling ton North constituency.
  • 3:00 am: Wave of results would start appearing from across the country. From this point on it would slowly become clear which party would rule the UK for next five years.
  • 4:00 am: Theresa May’s fate would become clear as her constituency in Maidenhead, Berkshire, declares the result.
  • 5:00 am: Results will be in for Green Party’s Caroline Lucas in Brighton Pavilion and the UKIP leader Paul Nuttall in Boston.
  • 6 am: Tim Farron likely to be the last party leader to learn if he has won his North West coastal seat of Morecambe.

The winner traditionally waits for the opposition party leader to concede defeat before he/she announces winning.
