The Republican Party’s Presidential nominee Donald Trump has taken a lead over the Democratic Party’s front-runner Hillary Clinton in key swing states of Florida, and Pennsylvania, while cut the lead in another key state Ohio. A recently conducted Reuters’ poll has given Hillary Clinton a nation-wide 13 points lead over Donald Trump and has led to some speculations that Donald Trump’s candidacy would be a major failure for the Republican Party. So this latest catch-up should improve the mood in the Trump camp.
According to the poll conducted by Quinnipiac survey, Mr. Trump is leading in Florida by 3 points, 2 points in Pennsylvania and tied the score with Mrs. Clinton in Ohio, one of the most critical swing states in the general election. The lead is much bigger if other rivals such as Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party is included. However, according to Real Clear Politics, Trump is trailing Hillary by 4.3 points nationally.
On the other side, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed Hillary Clinton finally this week after months’ long hesitation after most of his agendas such as raising the minimum wages got included in the Democratic platform. That should help Hillary to win over the Sanders’ followers, while Mr. Trump is still struggling to make the whole Republican Party to rally behind him. Another big challenge for Trump is money, which he has been struggling to raise ever since. Most of his Republican competitors who are out of the race had raised more.
