Donald Trump is Republican Party’s presumptive nominee but the primaries are yet to get over. These primaries might appear symbolic by now; however, Trump is still quite far from winning the 1,237 delegates to be able to win an outright nomination in the coveted race for White House.
In Washington primary, held on Tuesday, he received an overwhelming support. With 73 percent reporting, he bagged 76.2 percent of votes.
Though he still has a reason to worry since Ted Cruz and John Kasich also bagged 20 percent of votes, despite the fact they have already dropped out of the presidential race. This sizeable anti-Trump population reveals that a significant number of voters are rooting against him.
Meanwhile, Trump has managed to secure 1,196 delegates by now.
Still primaries haven’t lost their significance. On June 7, California and New Mexico will go to primaries, where Hispanics are predominant voters, whom Trump probably annoyed with his comments on deportation and intent of building a wall at Mexican border (if he gets elected).
If Trump loses substantial number of votes in these two states, it would leave him as well as the Republican leaders worried, as everyone get ready for the presidential polls that are scheduled to happen on November 8.
