Ever since the PlayStation 4 Pro was announced by Sony, a lot of details are still unclear in the minds of gamers, including the matter of optimization. Will games play better on the more powerful console or will they be the same? Now, a number of games have been announced that will be fully capable of taking advantage of all that muscle, including Naughty Dog’s “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.”
Along with the 1.15 patch for the last adventure of Nathan Drake and friends, the developers also added support for Sony’s more powerful game box upon release, PlayStation Lifestyle reports. This means that players will automatically be able to take advantage of the souped-up console on day one. The update also includes beta versions of new modes for multiplayer that gamers can try out all through the weekend.
Some of the features that fans of the franchise can look forward to include HDR support and better audio quality. For anyone who is buying the PS4 Pro specifically because they want 4K gaming and better graphics, this should prove to be great news.
Even better news is the fact that 38 other games are now going to be fully supported to run better on the PS4 Pro, Forbes reports. The full list includes the newly released “Battlefield 1,” “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered,” “Hitman,” and “Mafia 3.”
As the publication notes, the existence of the PS4 Pro is a bit of a conundrum for video game developers and players since it’s an upgrade instead of a new console altogether. With the latter, gamers could decide on which console to buy based on which games run on them and developers could create video games specifically for that console.
Now, developers will need to allocate manpower and resources to support games that are already out in order to provide PS4 Pro support. This is not something that all studios are excited about, including CD Projekt Red, which made “The Witcher” series.
