The existence of the Vivo X60 series was confirmed last month, but it appears that the company still has a few more surprises at the start of 2021. A new information leak was spotted online, claiming that the most premium model in the lineup, dubbed Vivo X60 Pro+, would be launched soon with significant advantages.
Vivo X60 Pro+ specs: What to expect from the high-end model
More bits of evidence have appeared online recently confirming that there will be a Vivo X60 Pro+ model, even though all of the attention is being directed to the other two smartphone models -- the base X60 and X60 Pro. One of the latest leaks comes from a Weibo leaker known as Digital Chat Station, hinting at the Vivo X60 Pro+ having some exclusive features.
The leak posted on the Chinese microblogging site reportedly claimed that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chip would power the Vivo X60 Pro+. This is particularly interesting because both Vivo X60 and X60 Pro have been announced to sport Samsung’s Exynos 1080 processor.

On paper, there are plenty of similar specs between the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 1080, including 5nm architecture and having a built-in 5G modem. However, various benchmark tests suggested that Qualcomm’s newest flagship mobile platform has a slight advantage. With that, it is not surprising for the Vivo X60 Pro+ to have it exclusively.
Another advantage expected on the Vivo X60 Pro+ lies in its battery capacity. The device was also spotted acquiring the 3C certification in China, where the documentation indicates that the device would support 5G and 55W fast charging technology. The latter is quite a substantial upgrade compared to the other models in the smartphone series, which are confirmed to function with 33W fast charging.
Vivo X60 Pro+ release date anticipated in the coming weeks
The Vivo X60 and X60 Pro are reportedly available for pre-order now and will go on sale in China on Friday. However, tech fans have yet to hear about the launch plans for the Vivo X60 Pro+.
In previous years, the “Plus” branded variant has been released in the same month as the rest of the series, so those who would prefer the Snapdragon 888 and a better fast charging tech might want to wait before making a purchase this week. More details about the Vivo X60 Pro+ release date could be revealed in the coming weeks.
