Wendy’s made an announcement on Wednesday, Oct. 13, and it was about the french fries that it sells. The fast-food restaurant said that it will be replacing orders of french fries that will not be served “hot and crispy.”
The announcement was made in an effort to ensure customers that they will only be getting the best thin strip of deep-fried potato in its store outlets. This promise also comes after Wendy’s debuted its new french fry recipe in August.
CNN Business reported that the fast-food chain is giving its famous side order a makeover. Wendy’s will use its new recipe so the fries will be able to retain heat and keep every strip crispy for a longer time. The upgraded food item was made available last month and customers are getting them via delivery and drive-thrus amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this new french fry recipe, Wendy’s is making another promise and to show that it is very confident that it can deliver what it is offering, it has released its "Hot and Crispy Fry Guarantee" notice this week.
"The Hot & Crispy Guarantee is Wendy's way of doubling down on fries, our most important side offering. We know customers deserve better than the cold, soggy fries they've been receiving at competitors,” Carlo Loredo, Wendy's U.S. chief marketing officer, said in a press release for its new guarantee offer. “That's why we are committed to delivering hot and crispy fries with every single order – if your fries are not hot and crispy when you receive them, we will replace them, no questions asked. This guarantee is an expression of the trust we've built with our customers, assuring a high-quality, craveable experience every time."
The Wendy’s Company’s vice president of culinary innovation, John Li further said that they are always looking and developing new ways to upgrade the menu that they offer to customers. And with their french fries, they want it to be better so the culinary team worked hard to perfect the crispy fries. “We are so proud of where we landed with Wendy's new Hot & Crispy Fries, delivering a hot, crispy, salty crunch with every bite," he said.
At any rate, Wendy’s revealed it has tested 20 various cuts of potato to find which one will be the best for retaining good heat protection. The company added that this menu was not only upgraded to taste good but so it can remain crispy for a longer time.
