Wendy’s is offering something new, and it is not a chicken sandwich. Taking a short break from the chicken war, the fast-food chain introduced its newest cheeseburger called the Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger.
Market Watch noted that this new menu launch from Wendy's is notable because, for months, the leading fast-food chains in the U.S. have engaged in a heated chicken war. McDonald’s Burger King and even Taco Bell have all joined the battle to attain dominance in the chicken category.
The idea behind the new cheeseburger flavor
Wendy’s chief marketing officer, Carl Loredo, said that after the success of the restaurant's Jalapeno Popper Chicken and Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger, the company wanted to “go back to our roots." This means that the burger joint would like to move away a bit from the trend and introduce something that Wendy’s flavor is known for.
Moreover, it was revealed that the Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger has been added to Wendy’s menu in celebration of the National Hamburger Month. In any case, this new sandwich has everything good ingredients inside, including fresh beef patty, applewood smoked bacon, crispy fried onions, drizzled with bourbon bacon barbecue sauce, all sandwiched in a toasted bun with American cheese.

Now, since the new sandwich was introduced in time for the National Hamburger Month, customers have a chance to get them for free! From May 6 to May 6, customers can get a free Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger with a minimum purchase of $15 at Wendy’s stores.
