Wendy's, the popular fast food restaurant chain, has announced that it will be making its famous chili available in grocery stores across the United States. Wendy's has partnered with Conagra Brands to bring this favorite item into homes without customers needing to visit the restaurant.
According to CNN Business, the canned chili will be very similar to the one served in Wendy's restaurants. The fast-food chain has ensured its customers that the new product will deliver the same flavor that everyone loves at its dining locations.
The canned chili will feature the same ingredients including beans, beef, and peppers. It is also tomato-based and will be sold with 29 grams of protein content. Since 1969, Wendy's has been serving its famous chili and has since become one of the brand's most well-known food items.
"We are thrilled to partner with Wendy's and bring a fan-favorite to homes nationwide," said Conagra Brands' Head of Prepared Chili Brand, Juliette van de Walle in a press release. "We worked closely with Wendy's culinary team to ensure we brought through the indulgent flavors and delicious ingredients of the Chili that have been a long-time staple on Wendy's menu."
The Wendy's Company's Global Chief Marketing Officer, Carl Loredo, also expressed his excitement, saying, "Wendy's Chili has been a beloved menu item since our beginnings in 1969. We are thrilled about the partnership with Conagra Brands and to have the opportunity to bring our brand's iconic chili flavor to even more fans. When the Wendy's chili craving hits, you now have two delicious ways to get your fix – at retail stores or in our restaurants."
