TOPEKA, Kan., Oct. 04, 2017 -- On Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, Westar Energy, Inc. (NYSE:WR) will conduct its 2017 Annual Meeting of Shareholders in the Wymore Auditorium at Westar Energy’s Corporate Headquarters in Topeka, Kan. The audio of the meeting will be accessible on the Westar Energy’s investor website, WestarEnergy.com/investors. The meeting and webcast will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Central). At the meeting, shareholders will vote on the election of three members of the Board of Directors and other business matters set forth in the notice of the meeting. A separate, special meeting of shareholders to vote on the proposed merger with Great Plains Energy Incorporated will be scheduled later this fall.
