The “Westworld” season 3 release date has yet to be announced. However, following the schedule that HBO has had for the show, fans might have to wait until 2020 for the third installment to be aired, Express reported.
Coming from the mind-melting ending of season 2, devoted followers are speculating on what “Westworld” season 3 has in store for the characters of the show. HBO is known for being secretive of its plotline, so it’s difficult to get anything from the network and the creators of the series.
However, Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan shared that they already have the ending in mind. In fact, they’ve known it since airing the pilot. This is great news for fans of the science-fiction drama since knowing the ending well before the show is released is a testament to exceptional plotting.
The cast for “Westworld” season 3 has yet to be announced but the big names in the previous installment will surely return. Also, Nolan hinted that Ford, played by Anthony Hopkins, will have some screen time through flashbacks.
“I think there will be an opportunity to explore a little bit more of the backstory of how this park came to be, a little more of that story. We’ll see the character’s presence will be felt in that sense regarding filling in a few more of the gaps about the early history of this place,” Nolad said.
The science-fiction drama has given HBO a stellar boost in ratings after its release, with its debut season racking up views twice the number of the first season of the post-apocalyptic horror “The Walking Dead.” The network revealed that the show managed to gain 11.7 million views in the course of its seven-week airing, surpassing “Game of Thrones” and “True Detective.”
And with “Westworld” season 3 set up quite nicely by the previous installment, HBO is looking at yet another viewer hit. Of course, fans will still need to wait a while to get their fix. But if “Westworld” season 3 is as good as the second season, then the wait will surely be worth it.
