Being recognized with an Edison Award has become one of the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business. The awards are named after Thomas Alva Edison whose inventions, new product development methods and innovative achievements literally changed the world, garnered him 1,093 patents and made him a household name around the world.
“Our judges recognized Whipsaw as a true innovator out of the many products in its category,” said Frank Bonafilia, Executive Director of the Edison Awards. “This award for the Google work is especially meaningful to us because it pays tribute to Thomas Edison, one of the greatest innovators of all time,” said Dan Harden, CEO Whipsaw Inc.
Dan Harden joined hundreds of senior executives from some of the world’s most recognized companies during the full-day “Meet the Innovators Forum,” where he was a speaker at the opening panel discussion on Collective Disruption with John Hockenberry (journalist, author, TV host of Takeaway), Peter Brussard (VP Rosetta Stone), and Michael Docherty (entrepreneur and writer).
The evening’s Awards Gala honored this year’s winners as well as the presentation of the prestigious Edison Achievement Award to Astro Teller, Captain of Moonshots X and Jeffrey Immelt, CEO, GE. The award honors innovation leaders and executives who have made a significant and lasting contribution to innovation throughout their careers.
