Ivanka Trump is one of Donald Trump’s most trusted Senior Advisors. However, she and her husband Jared opted not to spend Christmas Day with Melania Trump and the rest of the family in Mar-a-Lago.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were actually enjoying Christmas Day across the Atlantic. The couple was spent the holiday break in the romantic city of Paris, France, Daily Mail reported.
Jared and Ivanka arrived in Paris on Monday, December 23. “Table pour deux,” Ivanka captioned a photo showing them enjoying a drink upon arrival. It is unclear if their three kids traveled with them but they were not shown in the pictures Ivanka shared on social media.
A trip to Paris won’t be complete without visiting Eiffel Tower. Ivanka and Jared visited the famed landmark as well, which was documented by various photos of Ivanka on top of the tower with the Paris' stunning cityscape as her background. She even shared a sunrise video clip while on the tower.
One possible reason Ivanka opted to travel abroad for the holidays is that she and her husband, Jared, do not observe Christmas like the rest of the family. She was raised as a Presbyterian Christian but had to convert to Judaism to marry Jared in 2009, Express reported. Jared Kushner is an Orthodox Jew.
The family is celebrating the Jewish festival Hanukkah, which starts from December 22 until December 30. It commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple and part of the festival tradition is to lit one candle each night of the Hanukkah until all eight candles are lit on the festival’s last night.
Despite her conversion, Ivanka still posted a greeting to those who are celebrating Christmas. “May you have the gift of faith and the blessing of love this Christmas Day and always,” she tweeted. “Wishing you a very, Merry Christmas.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Melania hosted their Christmas Eve dinner at the Mar-a-Lago estate. The event was attended by close friends and family members.
Donald Trump Jr. was spotted attending the Christmas dinner. He came to the event along with his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle. Melania Trump’s parents Viktor and Amalija Knav were also in attendance.
