Now that the beta of “World of Warcraft Classic” is in full swing, players and developers are working hard on identifying bugs in preparation for its official launching. The latest announcement on this regard came from community manager Kaivax saying that maintenance will be implemented in just a few hours to increase the level cap.
“Later today, we will take the [World of Warcraft] Classic closed beta down for maintenance and we will increase the level cap from 30 to 40. This will allow testers to level up in zones such as Stranglethorn Vale, Desolace, and Arathi Highlands (among others). At the same time, Warsong Gulch will close.”
Kaivax added that respec cost will be reduced by 99 percent for “World of Warcraft Classic” closed beta testers, bringing the price from one gold to one silver. This is to ease the life of players and to help them be more effective in spotting out bugs.
What’s more, the Arathi Basin will be available for a limited time, with players needing to hit level 20 or higher to be able to access the area. Kaivax said that the test will kickstart on June 6. As for the overall reception of “World of Warcraft Classic” by the community, it has been met with general positivity. However, there has been confusion about bug reports that was actually an authentic part of the vanilla version of the game, ArsTechnica reported.
The developers previously said that “World of Warcraft Classic” will remain faithful to the mechanics of the MMORPG 13 years ago. This means that features that are considered bugs today are actually an authentic part of the experience for the game back then.
Due to the confusion, Blizzard has released a “Not A Bug” list that has been commonly reported by beta testers. Regarding the official release of “World of Warcraft Classic,” Blizzard announced that it will be ready on Aug. 27.
