Blizzard Entertainment excites fans about the upcoming “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” expansion by providing a preview on one of its zones. This time, developers focused on the land of the dead’s zone of repentance.
‘World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’: What to expect from the Revendreth
Announced during BlizzCon 2019, the “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” is going to be one of the biggest projects Blizzard has in store this year. One of the new zones opening with the next expansions is called the Revendreth, where souls that need to repent will be sent in the afterlife.
Upon arrival in Revendreth, characters will be given a Sinstone where the sins they need to atone will be written. It is part of their “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” journey to remove the bad deeds in this tombstone. The zone is the home for the Venthyr Covenant.
One of the most important features of Revendreth is a five-player dungeon fittingly named the Halls of Atonement. This is a good area for “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” to level up that can be played on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties.
As mentioned, the main goal in Revendreth is to repent from past sins. Once players have accomplished this, the Venthyr will give them two options on how to move forward in “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.”
Players can opt to go back to Oribos, where they will face the Arbiter again so they can be assigned to a new Covenant in “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.” Those who enjoy Revendreth so much can also choose to stay and become a Venthyr. It is also possible to ultimately fail in the journey of repentance. In this case, players will be sent to The Maw, where souls are locked up and be ruled by The Jailer.
Choosing to become a Venthyr or any other Covenant comes with a reward. “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” players will earn the power of their chosen Covenant, for Venthyr, that is the Door of Shadows that practically lets them teleport to a target location. Players will also receive a mount, a pet, armor, and back attachments designed for Venthyr.
‘World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ release date
Blizzard has yet to specify the release date of “World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” since the expansion is still in development. But these early previews are good indications that the work continues as planned amid the COVID-19 crisis, and the developers are likely to deliver their promise of launching it before the end of 2020.
