Disney has been making some changes to its movie lineup lately, with the company either rearranging release dates or changing details about the titles. In the case of “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2,” the title has since been shortened to just “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” cutting out “Wreck-It Ralph 2.” This is a rather odd choice since “Wreck-It Ralph 2” would have been more context-friendly.
This little tidbit came via The Hollywood Reporter, which recently provided details on what changes Disney was implementing with which movies. The studio said that it would be pushing the release date of “Indiana Jones 5,” starring Harrison Ford to July 9, 2021, for example. Meanwhile, the movie “Maleficent 2,” starring Angelina Jolie, is now scheduled for launch on May 29, 2020.
One of the changes by Disney with the most immediate effect, however, is with regards to “Wreck-It Ralph 2,” or “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” as it will be known when it is released. Fortunately, the movie’s release period is still on-schedule with a Nov. 21, 2018 launch date. That should prove to be a monumental event for fans of the lovable klutz and the adorable candy-racing princess duo.
There were also other recent changes with regards to “Wreck-It Ralph 2” (it’s just easier to call it that), including shifts in the director’s chair. Rich Moore will now by co-directing the film with Phil Johnston, OtakuArt reports.
Apparently, moving the characters from the limited space of an arcade shop to the limitless ocean that is the internet is giving the directors plenty to work with. One should certainly hope so since the web is where both creativity and craziness thrive in equal measure.
Fans of the first film will also likely appreciate the return of John C. Reilly as the voice of Ralph and Sarah Silverman as the voice of Vanellope. Jack McBrayer will also be reprising his role as Felix.
